Helene Rostand Helene is a natural intelligent student who can get good marks without trying - so she does. School is but a blip on her radar of life. More often she spends times reading, writing, and thinking about gay porn, along with assorted other vagrancies of nature, such as the little voices in her head, how that stain on the bathroom wall looks like Orlando Bloom from the right angle, and caclulating the relative merits of cheekbones and accents. With the arrival of her new computer system, Dorian, she spend most of her time online - reading, writing, and thinking about slash. And wondering if she can hack his program to remove all his clothes.
Dorian Dorian is the holographic persona of a computer system belonging to Helene. He's a nineteenth century English gentleman (read: dandy), and doesn't seem to realize how drop-dead gorgeous he is. Dorian tries as hard as he can to deal with his erratic new owner and has taken to looking up medical information to try and deal with her sudden and unexpected fainting fits and nosebleeds. It may have something to do with the fact that he is almost as lecherous as his owner and flirts outrageously with anything on two legs. And we do mean anything.
Tali deLaki A teenage criminal mastermind, if Tali ever got caught her rapsheet would be longer than Duo's hair. She runs every scam at St. Petronilla's that makes cash, and has been able to forge her parents' signatures since before she could write her own name. She's brilliant but lazy, and most of her schemes involving using her demure looks and smooth tongue to duck out of doing just about anything. Just about the only person she's never lied to is Orville, her new computer system. Her more mundane interests run to unravelling the secrets of the universe, time travel, parallel dimensions, and the existence of small domestic wormholes or vortices.
Orville A 1920's-style newspaper man, Orville is designed to multitask better than the other two systems, but means he sometimes gets a bit overwhelmed. Orville was the first H.El.Pe.R. created, and his crammed little office shows it. He's almost too sweet to be believed, and isn't programed for deviousness, which means he's naive enough to fall prey to the advances of both his user, Tali, and Dorian.
Katie MacDonald Active and brainy, Katie is a huge fan of everything Japanese. It's no wonder her system takes the form of a plump, kindly geisha. Katie may not be quite as nerdy as her two friends, but she can hold her own in their debates. She, like Helene, is a writer, but isn't as reclusive. Out of all of them, Katie probably is the most outgoing and has the healthiest social life. She's never without someone to talk to or hang out with.
Sayuri Sayuri is a quiet, pleasant geisha who is programmed to be the most user-friendly, meaning she's obliging to a tee. She plays the mediator amongst the three systems and is also the collection point for all the beta test data.
